The Optical Wavelength Labs (OWL) Wavetrekker ODTR can be used for performing basic troubleshooting or restoration tasks on singlemode optical fibre networks.
The pocket-sized instrument has a 2.8” high-resolution colour LCD that can show very long traces.
For greater viewing flexibility and trace detail, the display technology allows the OTDR’s high-resolution colour LCD to ‘flip’ between portrait and landscape mode automatically. In landscape mode, a wider viewing area means greater viewing detail.
Currently available in SM 1550 nm, it is suitable for testing and troubleshooting most SM networks. Other wavelengths and multimode versions will also be available.
